Gija terra

Gija means sing in swedish romani and terra means earth or land in latin. Gija terra is a continuation on my work with PL179 where I research the history of travellers (resandefolket), a group within the romani minority, in the local area of Kirseberg, Malmö.

Gija terra is an exploration on the loss of culture and historical identity.

Sand casted ceramics paired with handbuilt or thrown bodies. Decorated with engobe and local sand.
